Deviant Art: Popular Section

So, I’ve been looking around Deviant Art.com more and more every day and I see the Popular section always having Anime in it. About 95% of the Popular section is Anime. I’ve come to believe that our society today is so into Anime and cartoons and all these Americans wanting to be like Japanese people and trying to act like them as well. It kind of bothers me that there are so many people out there that are wanna-be Anime freaks. Yes, I have to admit, I was once one too and I have pictures to prove you all.
But this is all just my opinion and I know that I’m not the only one who doesn’t really enjoy seeing Anime smack-dab right on the front page every time I reload the page. 
But seriously, people should draw real-life pictures and not some crazy cartoon cel-animation pictures. I do have to say they are drawn very nicely and lots of people on Deviant Art.com have a lot of talent. But I would want to see that talent other than Anime pictures.
So what I’m trying to say is, that I would like to see more photos of people, paintings, and even 3D models of really cool things. Especially in the Popular section.
I'm Ashley and I am a college Freshman going for a Bachelor's in Web Design. I live a very comfortable life and I love blogging, web design, graphic design, video games, and singing. 
Its annoying huh? I think real art is things like photography and paintings. And stuff like that.

I have noticed that as well but a couple things to keep in mind when looking at this statistic. 75% of Deviants from deviant art come from overseas 50% of that 70% are in the UK so what we are seeing is not a true slice of the pie as the world as a whole. Meaning Just because it is big and popular online or on Deviant Art that does not automatically mean its a craze adapted by the states.:cool:
Hm, I never really thought of it that way.
I’ve noticed that too. I draw with my own style, which is not that heavily anime based now. But I still don’t understand why I don’t get many comments. Seriously, what does on have to do to get some page views & comments in Deviant Art? Virtually all drawings have comments on them but mine.
